Even More Solo-touristing

All of my friends worked during the day time, so I went on a lot of solo adventures. On Tuesday I decided to check out the area around the Louvre. My original intention was to spend the day at the Louvre, but when I got there I found out that it was closed on Tuesdays. Can you say: TOURIST FAIL???? Hahahaha oh wellz, I still had an awesome time exploring the things around it. I went to Notre Dame and then just walked around taking pictures with the pretty looking architecture.
When I got tired, I decided to pay my buddies Kevin & Andrew a visit. After taking a nap, we all headed out to watch the Spain versus Portugal game on the large screen in front of the Eiffel Tower. Spain won woot!
To make a long story short, we ended up missing the last metro home that night, and it was going to take us hours to get a taxi, so we decided to WALK ALL THE WAY HOME. We walked from the Eiffel Tower to the Moulin Rouge (actually more than that because we made a rather large detour to McDonalds), but moral of the story, I had blisters and felt like I wanted to stay in bed forever. Nonetheless, I had fun, it was quite an experience and I couldn’t have been in better company, I just would never want to do it again, hahahah.
PS- I saw Aviva on Thursday night, but I forgot to take pictures with her, she’s my lover though! <3333 LOVE YOU VEEVS!

Escargot dans La Chat Noir!

The Paris Crew & I decided to go to dinner at the famous Chat Noir Café (for those who are French incompetent “The Black Cat” café. We ordered Escargot, and it was actually super nommy! :D It was so drenched in garlic, butter, and oil that you couldn’t really taste the “snail-ness” of it.

More Tourist Adventures at Mont Marte

This area of town was really cool! My cool new friends Kevin & Andrew live here right next to the Moulin Rouge [shout out to you guys! Thanx for hosting me <3]. I spent quite a lot of time in this area.
Aside from going to the Moulin Rouge I also went to the Sacre C’oure (The Sacred Heart Cathedral) and the Salvador Dali museum. You could see all of Paris from the cathedral, it was so beautiful (speaking of which, you can see me sporting my Filipino rosary through out my trip, rosarys are super chic in Paris right now). And although the Salvador Dali museum was really small, it was really cool, I’m a fan of his weirdness and it was definitely satisfying to see some of his less famous pieces.
Oh yeah, I also went to the café that Amelie works at in the movie “Amelie” (sorry, that was kinda redundant). Anywho, it was a cool experience for me because I attempted to speak solely in French, and I succeeded! I was able to purchase an espresso and get a table without any English involved, quite gratifying.

My First Night in Paris!

My week in Paris was so jammed packed I didn’t have time to update the travel blog at all!!! But I’ll break it into little chunks to make it more digestible.
I met up with my Taiwanese sister Anting on the famous street leading up to the Arc d’triumphe called “Champs Elysees”. When I first arrived I went to Anting’s apartment (she left the keys for me so I could get in) and I dropped off my stuff, then she told me to meet her at the McDonalds on the Champs Elysees. When I first got off at the metro stop and started asking where the Mcdonalds was, I felt really silly because the local Parisians must have thought I was some stupid American in search of my McDonalds, hahahah.
I finally found her! And of course, we proceeded to eat McDonalds. Afterwards, me and her friends went to a bar/discotechque and danced! Ghana & America had played against each other in the world cup that night and accordingly there were flags from both countries present. We wore them like dresses & got our pics taken at the club :P
