Amsterdam round 2!

So, before going to Paris I had a 19 hour lay over in Amsterdam, this time I decided to find a hostel, but since my plane arrived in Amsterdam at 10:30pm, I was willing to take anything I could get. I stopped at this Hostel near the central train station called "Aroza Hostel". The owner of the Hostel offered for me to stay on the cushions in billiard room for 10 euros, so I took him up on his offer, but before I went to sleep I decided to explore Amsterdam a little more.

I wandered into a "coffee shop" and hung out for a little bit. Then I traveled back out into the streets, and somehow I ended up in the redlight district full of women in their lingerie dancing in windows. It was a sketchy, but it was quite the experience! I love the thrill of adventuring on my own.

Then, the following day, I explored the city some more and I went to the Anne Frank house. Afterwards I made a friend from North Carolina, and we traveled around together eating lunch & grabbing beers.

Wien (VIenna) Adventures!

Vienna was so much fun! I can't wait to return! I made some American friends and we had lots of fun involving forests and clubs. People are so friendly and the adventures are abundant. Yaaaaay Vienna!

Kyle & Ian, I couldn't have met a better pair to travel with! Have fun on your adventures :D

My first time in Europe!

I'm finally sitting in my bed at hostel in downtown Vienna, I'm in love with the place, but I am exhausted. I'll recount the events of the last 24 hours:

I pulled an all nighter in Berkeley and then boarded the subway for my plane out of SFO. On my ride from SFO to Minneapolis, this really nice man offered me his seat in first class because he wanted my seat because it was next to his grandson. Being in first class was an awesome start to my trip! I felt so spoiled as I ordered cup after cup of coffee in a ceramic mug and munched on my fancy airplane food. IT WAS AWESOME. I sat next to a cool business man and he asked me about the philosophy papers I was reading, blah blah blah.

Then I had a layover in Minneapolis for about 2 hours and I met some other cool kids who were going to Amsterdam too. Then I boarded my plane for Amsterdam with a feeling of light-heartedness.

I couldn't stop smiling when I first got to Amsterdam, IT WAS MY FIRST TIME IN EUROPE! I couldn't believe it was real. I'm really making things happen! Its so magical! I digressed. Anywho, I had an 8 hour lay over before my final plane to Vienna & I decided that I wanted to explore Amsterdam. I made friends with an American boy when we were buying train tickets and we explored the city together and had very "amsterdamish" adventures.

Then I had to get back to my plane, and I then proceeded to leave for Vienna.

Vienna is GORGEOUS. Its so beautiful. Breath taking architecture everywhere and cobblestone streets. I'm already in love with the place. Peace out ya'll I'm so tired.

My internet connection is really bad right now, its not letting me upload pics, maybe I'll have better luck in France?

The view from the plane as I left the bay area: you can see the campinile!

Backpacking Round 2!

Hello Again Everybody! I'm opening back up the travel blog so that I can share my experiences in Europe this summer. Last year I backpacked Asia by myself (Korea, Japan, Taiwan), and now this time I'm back to conquer Europe. I don't have an exact plan set forth yet, but so far I'm fosho going to Vienna, Amsterdam, and Paris. You can check here to see where my adventures lead me :)

This whole trip came about when I half-heartedly applied to a philosophy program in Vienna. I never thought I'd actually get in, I mean its for hard-core philosophy scholars. But somehow, I got in! And I got the scholarship, CRAZY RIGHT? I'm so excited about indulging my interests in philosophy, especially before I head off to Grad school. Anywho, its 2 am and I need to get on the subway in about 2 hours to catch my plane. Wish me luck!

I'll leave you with these few pics of me sporting my epic backpack. This time, I'm trying to be a little bit more stylish on my trip, heheheh.
